Reebok's history goes back to 1895, when the company was founded under the name J.W. Fosters and Sons in Bolton, UK. The founder was the English runner Joseph Foster, who invented running shoes with spikes and thus revolutionized running. At the 1924 Summer Olympics, all athletes were equipped with the shoes. The name Reebok was created in 1958 by two of the company founder's grandchildren. Named after the African gazelle, the company made a great leap in the 1980s. The brand expanded into the USA and soon became a global brand. Today, the Reebok Classic line brings us a large number of classics from the brand's extensive archive.
